FEED EARTH NOW is a green initiative offering pilot projects that solve the issue of food waste. Food scraps that would have been dumped in a landfill, with related carbon emissions—are instead transformed into organic soil.
A city, business or school uses this enhanced organic soil, rich in nutrients, to help defray the high cost of chemical fertilizers. Bokashi Fermentation is the secret. In this modernized version of an ancient anaerobic process, we introduce beneficial enzymes to the food scraps. Instead of the rotting process of composting—which smells—this method is entirely anaerobic and odor-free. Breakdown begins immediately, fermentation goes on for seven days when the waste is ready to transfer to soil processing areas in parks, forest preserves or vacant lots. Bokashi fermentation is the only truly sustainable method of food waste recycling.
Fuel costs are limited as food is recycled on site or close to points of generation. Welcome to the future of food waste recycling!
How I plan on using the money
Build Website & online store featuring products, uses & educational programs
Purchase parts & fabricate 50- 45 gallon containers to run multiple large scale projects & a shredder to assist breakdown process, Manufacture Bokashi for participating projects like schools & cities. Deposit on vehicle.
About me
Raised in Chicago, I work with businesses to reduce their waste streams. It was easy diverting the basic recyclables but food waste became my nemesis. I am passionate about food waste recycling and teaching sustainability. My vision is to create zero waste environments for future generations.

After watching your video I did a bit of research on your product (or rather the product you've taken on). While it seems like a very legitimate way to 'speed up' and eliminate a few of the negatives of a compost pile, I found that in various places of your video you either are misinformed, or stretching the truth of what you're pitching. First, no one but you claims that Bokashi is 'complete' in a month. It may be ready to add to soil, but you can add your compost to the soil at a month too. It's not fully broken down for much, much longer than that. Second, while there is little to no legitimate, verifiable scientific data available on the process, it is extremely unlikely that the microbes give off NO gases. Fermentation typically creates abundant CO2 or other gases. While it may not create enough in a month to pressurize your container (which is likely not 100% air tight by the look of it), it is unlikely it isn't creating any 'waste' gases, and I found no one else pitching Bokashi claiming it doesn't.
That said, anything that gets more people composting is great. I wish you luck.

Is 25,000 enough to set up distribution channels and acquire products to feed the earth? To feed the US? How does that taste? Edible?

Excellent idea! I can see this used in places with high volume food waste (school cafeterias, hospitals, restaurants, cruise ships, etc.). Great for home use too. We have done so much damage to our earth... it's time we started taking care of what we have!! Good luck to you Cath!

What an amazing, innovate concept. My family wastes so much food. I just cleaned out my fridge an threw away a full bag of old uneaten food. Linda
